Reflecting on his preference for shooting on real locations rather than sets, Nawazuddin says, "Atmosphere speaks to an actor and gives a kick that brings a natural appeal to the character. On the sets, it becomes a little mechanical... I realized it early in my career when I shot a short film with Irrfan bhai in the deserts of Jaisalmer."
