Will Devara Beat Baahubali In Hindi Belt: Devara: Part 1 is all set to hit the theaters on September 27, 2024. The upcoming movie happens to be first solo release of NT Rama Rao Jr's in 6 years. Telugu-language action film will also feature Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan beside NTR Jr. Speaking about the expectations and success of the upcoming movie Devara, Karan Johar claims that he has high expectations from Devara. When asked by Filmibeat what are Karan Johar's expectation from Devara after Baahubali's hit in Hindi, the filmmaker replied, "I was absolutely honored even then to present SS Rajamouli sir's vision and that kind of began a massive journey for Indian cinema, I think Baahubali will always be first pillar that kind of held pan-India cinema together." Talking about his upcoming movie Devara and comparing it with Baahubali, Karan said, "(Baahubali) will always be a reference for so much. I have mega expectation from Devara and for various reasons."

Karan claimed that since the movie is NTR Jr's first solo after so many years, fans are eagerly waiting for it to happen. He also claimed that since Devara features Saif and Janhvi, it therefore makes it "true pan-India experience."

Talking about what expectations he has when it comes to the box office, Karan said, "I don't wanna put number because that would dilute and demean what Devara means to all of us as a cinematic experience but rest assured it's going to be a celebration on the 27th of September."

To note, Devara has become first Indian film to cross $1 Million mark in pre-sales in North America. It has sold around 35,000 tickets as of now. In the coming weeks, Devara is expected to see a major jump in the numbers.
