Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Producers Vashu, Jackky Bhagnani File Police Complaint Against Director Ali Abbas Zafar

Producers Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani have accused director Ali Abbas Zafar of embezzlement amidst ongoing disputes in the film industry. The complaint, which highlights misuse of subsidy funds, has raised questions about financial management and labor treatment in the sector.

Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani, the producers of the film 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,' lodged complaint at the Bandra Police Station against director Ali Abbas Zafar on Tuesday, September 3. They accused him of embezzling during the movie's production. This action came shortly after Ali Abbas Zafar accused the Bhagnanis of not paying him, filing his own complaint with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). The police in Bandra are now gearing up to question the director, following allegations that he misused subsidy funds received from Abu Dhabi for the film's production.

In a detailed statement, the production team at Pooja Entertainment announced the police's intention to call in Ali Abbas Zafar for inquiry. The complaint highlights a broader accusation, including the film's writer Himanshu Rao and Ekesh Ranadive, alleging a conspiracy involving fraud, theft, and financial embezzlement. The producers have pointed out that these individuals, through illicit activities, sought to enrich themselves at the production's expense, hinting at a misuse of funds through a shell company named Jolly Jumper Films LLC based in Abu Dhabi.

Prior to this development, FWICE had confirmed receiving Ali Abbas Zafar's complaint about unpaid dues. This was part of a larger issue where directors Tinu Desai and Vikas Bahl, associated with Pooja Entertainment, also reported non-payment for their projects, 'Mission Raniganj' and 'Ganpat,' respectively. Despite the financial setbacks from these films' poor box office performance, FWICE has been vocal about the need for the Bhagnani's to settle any outstanding payments to all involved parties, emphasizing it as a rightful claim for their work and contributions.

FWICE's statement detailed the unresolved payment issues, including the specific complaints from Tinu Desai regarding 'Mission Raniganj' and from the technical team and vendors of 'Ganpat.' Furthermore, it mentioned a collective grievance from the FSSAMU, representing daily wage setting workers, about unpaid wages. This paints a picture of financial mismanagement and disputes overshadowing the production house's projects.

In light of these allegations, the film industry and its observers are now waiting to see how the Bhagnanis will respond to both the accusations against them and the charges they have levied against Ali Abbas Zafar and his associates. The situation calls into question the practices within the industry regarding financial dealings and the treatment of labor. As of now, neither Vashu nor Jackky Bhagnani have publicly addressed the accusations levelled against them, leaving many to speculate on the potential outcomes of this legal and financial drama.
