Exclusive! 20 Years Of Dhoom: Esha Deol Reveals, "After Dhoom, A Lot Of Guys Proposed"

Dhoom starring Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Esha Deol, Uday Chopra, and Rimi Sen was released on 27th August 2004. The movie was directed Sanjay Gadhvi and was produced by Yash Raj Films. It was a hit at the box office and later the makers made it a franchise. Today, Dhoom completes 20 years of its released, and Filmibeat interacted with Esha Deol about it.

When asked how she feels about Dhoom completing 20 years, the actress said, "It feels great that Dhoom is celebrating 20 years today. But, I feel a little sad also because Sanjay Gadhvi, the director of the film, he is not with us. So, I really miss him today especially when Dhoom completes 20 years; he would have been ecstatic."

In today's times, it is easy for fans to connect with a celeb through social media. But, when asked Esha how was it 20 years back, and if any crazy fan experience she had, the actress said, "After Dhoom, there was an entire frenzy where a lot of guys had a crush on me, a lot of people proposed. It was very sweet and cute, and I am a young girl, so I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the attention I got. It was nice, it was fun. Even now on my social media, so many of them comment, 'My first crush', and I know they are relating to Dhoom."

Well, nowadays, every week there's a new actress that is called the National Crush. When asked Esha if she feels she was the OG National Crush, she said, "No, no. I think actresses in general, whoever it is, audience has a right to have a crush on you, like you and love you. And if you are getting that then you are doing something right."

20 years ago, Dhoom had done a business of Rs. 31.60 crore at the box office and it was called a hit. We are sure if a movie like Dhoom was made in current scenario, it would have easily crossed Rs. 200 crore at the box office.
