Kajol Turns 50: The ever graceful Kajol turned 50 on August 5th. She is credited for numerous hits in Bollywood that also helped her shape the career and become one of the most successful actresses in the Bollywood's history. However, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, which reinstated Kajol as queen of Bollywood in the early 00s, wasn't meant to be her film in the first place. Shocking right? Well, you heard it right! Karan Johar was supposed to cast another Bollywood star for the role of Anjali before considering Kajol.
Karan Johar Considered THIS Actress First Instead Of Kajol For Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham
During a chat with Komal Nahta, many years ago, Karan Johar revealead that he wanted to cast Aishwarya Rai. Karan not considering Kajol was that the actress' marriage and leading a blissful marital life for which the director was sure that she would reject it. However, Karan also mentioned it took only one meeting with the actress when he elaborated the character and the film's plot to the actress. And with his surprise, Kajol accepted the film and he never had to approach Aishwarya. Karan said, "But I don't know what changed, Kajol actually wanted to do the film. So, I did not go to meet Aishwarya. But Aishwarya was my choice and after that, the series of 'missing' started."

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham also starred Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor and Jaya Bachchan alongside Kajol. The family drama turned 23 years in 2004. It was backed by Hiroo Johar and Dharma Production.
On the work front, Kajol will be seen in Maharagni, which is set to release on May 29, 2024.
