Exclusive! Emraan Hashmi On Insider-Outsider Debate, "It Is Easier For Nepo-Kids, But..."

Emraan Hashmi is undoubtedly one of the most talented actors we have in the industry. He has been in the industry for more than two decades. When Emraan entered the industry not many people knew that he was related to filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt; quite later people came to know about it. The actor will next be seen in the series Showtime which revolves around the film industry.

Filmibeat recently interacted with Emraan and when asked him about the insider-outsider debate, the actor said, "I didn't get a launch of a star or a hero. I played a supporting actor in my first film, and then I slowly worked my way up and my first bonafide hit was my second film, Murder. In today's day and age, I think there's so much of hue and cry about the whole topic of nepotism, that people in industry are dumbfounded because you have as many as outsiders in the industry, so why not give opportunities to people who are from inside, when you are going equal opportunities to the outsiders."

"It is easier for nepo-kids, the word that's being used very often now. But, there's only one sure shot way of success; talent triumphs all and the audience's endorsement triumphs all. So, that's what it is," he added.

Showtime Release Date And Star Cast

Showtime also stars Rajeev Khandelwal, Shriya Saran, Mahima Makwana, and Mouni Roy. The series is all set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on 8th March 2024. It is directed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar, and it is produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharmatic Entertainment. The trailer of the series has grabbed everyone's attention, and now, everyone is eagerly waiting for it.

Talking about other upcoming projects of Emraan, the actor will be seen in Ae Watan Mere Watan, OG (Telugu), and G2 (Telugu). Reportedly, he has a cameo in the Sara Ali Khan starrer which will premiere on Amazon Prime Video soon.
