Rajinikanth and Vishnu Vishal’s much-awaited sports drama Lal Salaam has finally got a release date. The film is slated to hit theatres on February 9. On Tuesday, the film's production house, Lyca Production, shared the announcement on their official X handle along with a new poster. They wrote in Tamil, which translates to English as "It’s time to celebrate our chariot festival (sic)." Rajinikanth will have an extended cameo in the film, which is directed by his daughter, Aishwarya Rajinikanth, and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah of Lyca Productions.

Music maestro Ustad Rashid Khan's demise came as a shock to the music industry. The singer breathed his last on Tuesday, January 9, in Kolkata. He was 55 and had been battling prostate cancer for a long time. Reacting to his demise, singer Sonu Nigam took to his social media handle to pay tribute to the late singer. Actor Bobby Deol, who was recently seen as Abrar Haque in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal on Tuesday, took to his Instagram page and dropped a video expressing gratitude for showering love on the film and his character. He shared a BTS video from the movie and also said that 'Jamal Kundu' is his favourite song from the movie.

Music maestro Ustad Rashid Khan, who has been undergoing treatment at a Kolkata-based hospital for prostate cancer, died at a city hospital this afternoon, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said. He was 55. "We tried our best but failed. He passed away at around 3:45 PM," an official of the private hospital where Khan was admitted said. The chief minister who visited the hospital said, "This is a great loss for the entire country and the entire music fraternity. I am in a lot of pain as I still can't believe that Rashid Khan is no more."
