Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently praised Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s latest film, 12th Fail. In a long note that Anurag shared on his social media pages, Anurag recalled meeting IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma, on whom the film is based. Actor Vikrant Massey plays the lead role in the film. Sharing a still from the film, he wrote, “Probably the best mainstream film I’ve seen in 2023 @vidhuvinodchoprafilms at the age of 71 has crafted a masterpiece out of a simple story of an adamant man wanting to be more than what life gives him. He goes and takes what he wants and how. What amazed me about the film is how he breaks all conventions of mainstream and has scenes done in simple long shots.”

Filmmaker Nag Ashwin's sci-fi film "Kalki 2898-AD," starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, will now release in theatres on May 9, 2024, the makers announced on Friday. Production banner Vyjayanthi Movies shared the news of the multilingual big-budget movie's new release date on its social media pages, along with a brand new poster featuring Prabhas. "The story that ended 6000 years ago. Begins May 9th, 2024. The future unfolds. #Kalki2898AD," the studio posted on Instagram. Also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani, the movie was earlier scheduled for release on January 12. It is produced by Aswini Dutt, the founder of Vyjayanthi Movies.

Actor Riteish Deshmukh has joined the cast of Ajay Devgn's "Raid 2," the makers announced on Friday. The upcoming movie is the sequel of the 2018 film "Raid," which saw Devgn play the role of IRS officer Amay Patnaik. Deshmukh has been roped in to play the role of the antagonist in the movie. "Get ready for a face-off! Riteish Deshmukh takes on the role of the antagonist in 'Raid 2'," T-Series posted on Instagram. Raj Kumar Gupta, who helmed the first "Raid" film, is returning to the director's chair for the follow-up, which will also feature actor Vaani Kapoor. "Raid 2" is backed by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak under their banners T-Series and Panorama Studios, respectively. The production of the movie is underway, and it will be released in theatres on November 15, 2024.
