As Zakir Hussain passes away in San Francisco, president Draupadi Murmu mourned his demise and tweeted, "The demise of tabla wizard Ustad Zakir Hussain is a great loss to the world of music. He was known for his extraordinary creativity and inventiveness. He mesmerised generations of music lovers across the world. He was a bridge between the musical traditions of India and the West. I had the privilege of conferring the Padma Vibhushan upon him. I convey my deepest condolences to members of his family and his countless admirers."

He wrote, "I remain deeply concerned about young Shri Tej, who is under constant medical care after the unfortunate incident. Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2 witnessed a strong second weekend and has achieved a milestone. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Pushpa 2 raked in Rs 75 crores on second Sunday (day 11) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 900.5 crores
