ENT Highlights: Rohit On Making Standalone Film With Deepika’s Shakti Shetty; SSR’s 38th Birth Anniversary

According to reports, Aamir Khan will begin shooting for RS Prasanna’s Sitaare Zameen Par and Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lahore: 1947 in February. Pinkvilla quoted a source close to the development as saying, “Aamir has been in the prep mode for Sitaare Zameen Par over the last few months and is all set to take the film on floors from February 2. He has finally zeroed down on his look for the film and has done several reading sessions with the ensemble cast. It’s going to be a marathon schedule for Sitaare Zameen Par and the actor has allotted 70 to 80 working days on the film. With a lot of time invested in pre-production, this would be among the fastest films that Aamir would deliver to the audience.” Talking about Lahore 1947, the source stated, “Lahore: 1947 is a partition drama by Rajkumar Santoshi with Sunny Deol in the lead. The film goes on floors on February 12, 2024. The set work has already begun in Mumbai to recreate the era gone by. Multiple big sets to recreate India around the partition era are being put up.”

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, who on Sunday left for Ayodhya to attend the grand occasion of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Temple on January 22, shared a video from inside the aeroplane reciting the Hanuman Chalisa. Sharing the video on X, Madhur wrote, "Euphoria inside the plane Enroute #Ayodhya for the historic #RamMandir the excitement is palpable.#JaiShriRam"

Tara Sutaria starrer survival thriller became the most-liked and most-watched Hindi film on Ormax Media’s Streaming Originals Report 2023. On social media, the actress shared her reaction to the news and said, “So proud of our films journey and the love we continue to receive. Actress Shefali Shah and her producer husband Vipul Amruthlal Shah reached Ayodhya on Sunday to attend the Ram Mandir’s inauguration ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on January 22. Ahead of the big day, Shefali was seen talking to PTI reporters and said, “I am honoured to be here (Ayodhya). It (Pran Pratishtha) is one of the biggest cultural moments that our country and we as Indians can experience. I am just feeling so proud being an Indian. Actor Rashmika Mandanna has expressed gratitude towards Delhi Police after it arrested a B-Tech graduate from Andhra Pradesh in connection with a deepfake video of the "Animal" star that was widely circulated on social media. The video went viral on social media in November which showed a woman, dressed in a black workout onesie, stepping inside an elevator. The accused, who has been identified as 23-year-old Eemani Naveen, a native of Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, had morphed British-Indian social media personality Zara Patel's face using artificial intelligence (AI) to resemble the actor. On Saturday, Mandanna shared a note on her official X page and tagged the handle of Delhi Police's Cyber Crime Unit. "Expressing my heartfelt gratitude to @DCP_IFSO. Thank you for apprehending those responsible. Feeling truly grateful for the community that embraces me with love, support and shields me," the 27-year-old wrote. "Girls and boys - if your image is used or morphed anywhere without your consent. It is wrong! And I hope this is a reminder that you are surrounded by people who will support you and action will be taken!" Mandanna added in her post.

Mythri Movie Makers, one of the distributors of the Teja Sajja-starrer "HanuMan", on Sunday it would donate over Rs 2.6 crore to the Ram temple, a day before the consecration ceremony in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya. The company said the film's team had pledged Rs 5 from each ticket of "HanuMan" for the cause. Till now, the Telugu-language movie has sold 53,28,211 tickets, which amounts to Rs 2,66,41,055 as the sum of donation. Mythri Movie Makers made the announcement in a statement on X. "Thank you to the 53,28,211 people who have joined the great cause of donating to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, amounting to a sum of Rs 2,66,41,055. "You can also be a part of this wonderful initiative by watching #HanuMan & immersing yourself in the divine experience. Rs 5 from your ticket spent will go to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. The Mythri Distribution team is honoured to have been a part of this historic moment. Nizam Release by Mythri!" the distribution company said. Miraj Cinemas, one of the country's leading cinema chains, also announced a 'buy one-get one free ticket' scheme for "HanuMan" shows at select locations on January 22, the inauguration day of the Ram temple. "HanuMan", a superhero film written and directed by Prashanth Varma, released on Friday. Produced by Primeshow Entertainment, the movie has earned over Rs 150 crore at the worldwide box office.

Rohit Shetty has dismissed the reports of alleged feud with Shah Rukh Khan post Dilwale and opened up about collaborating with him again. During an interaction, Rohit said, "Koi achi kahani milne ke saath me, karna hai toh fir vo aesi ho k vo Chennai Express se badi ho. Sabse important cheez rehta hai k kabhi aesa koi subject aaya toh kyun nhi karungi mai, zaroor karunga. (If I get a good story, if we have to work together then it should be better that Chennai Express. Most important thing is that. If something like this comes then we will definitely work together.)"

As Deepika Padukone is playing a key character in Singham Again as Shakti Shetty, director Rohit Shetty revealed that he is planning to make a standalone film on the character as well. Talking to ANI, he said, "She is like one of the heroes and what we are doing with it is that we will go with her story. We will make a film which has only Deepika...it is her story... Like Sooryavanshi, Singham and Simmba, the films had already been made and people knew about them but with Singham Again we are introducing these characters and then we will tell their stories"
