Naseeruddin Shah, who has recently joined the screening of his 1976 film Manthan at the Cannes Film Festival, talked about his interest at making a 'courageous' film on religion. When asked to choose a contemporary social issue to make a film, he answered, "I would say religion. I think courageous films should be made about this factor which seems to be on all our minds. This, to my mind, is one of the most harmful things that have happened to humanity, and that is why I consider a film that I did in Pakistan many years ago called Khuda Kay Liye, which was an important film, equally as important as Manthan.”

Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame Gurucharan Singh returned home after being missing for 26 days. Upon his returning, his co-star Priya Ahuja Rajda, called it 'moment of joy'. She said to Hindustan Times, “I am so happy to hear that Gurucharan is back.
