Everyone's responsibility is nobody's responsibility but it's our responsibility to bring a change in society, no matter how small it is. Changes are never small, they are impactful. As we interacted with Anushka Ranjan about her new initiative Beti, the actress-model got all candid and bared her heart out about educating the girl child.

She is bold and beautiful and doesn't shy away from expressing her view point, even if might offend someone. There's a reason why people call her a 'force to reckon with'. From talking about her initiative to sharing her thoughts on misogyny in society, Ranjan voiced out her views in a no-holds-barred interview.

Anushka Ranjan confidently told Filmibeat, "I don't hesitate while pointing out a thing if I believe it affects the society and the people. If we really want to empower our girls and women, we need to to take our respective stands and say it loud- 'this is wrong'. We comment about girls wearing 'short dresses' and arriving late at night at work but never take a stand when our neighbour is beating his wife. We need to change the mentality."

BETI has been organising one of the biggest charity events in India since the past fifteen years now. The idea is clear- to help arrange and raise funds for educating the young girls. Anushka proudly quipped, "Beti has managed to reach the milestone of educating over 3000 girls, right from primary education to professional courses. This year, the event will be held on October 20. We aim to bring focus on important issues that prevail in the society. At the same time, we want to focus on educating the young boys, so that we can make changes at the grass-root level. They are the ultimate caretakers of the country, and we need to empower, educate and transform them so that the country is in safe hands."

When asked if she was always the rebel she is now, the Fittrat star stated, "I have always been vocal about the things around. Right from my childhood, my parents have allowed me to share my thoughts. I was given such an upbringing where I could openly talk about the issues that are prevalent in the society. I have even pinpointed my friends if they were wrong. Change starts at home, so we need to start working towards a change if we wish people to change their mindset."

We extend our best wishes to Anushka as she walks on the path of empowering boys and girls. Kudos to her for attempting to make a change with BETI.
