Taran Singh On His Journey From Content Creation To Bollywood Debut: Content creator cum Rajasthan Royals' 'Water Boy' Taran Singh makes his dreamy Bollywood debut with this Friday release, 'Munjya'. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Munjya - based on the supernatural creature of the same name common in Maharashtrian folklore - is a part of the Stree and Bhediya universe, a horror-comedy franchise created by Maddock Films. Munjya stars Sharvari, Abhay Verma, Mona Singh and Taran Singh among others.

Taran Singh, who is widely known for making comedy content, plays the role of Spielberg, the best friend of Bittu (played by Abhay Verma).

Ahead of the release of his big Bolly debut, the Punjabi munda got engaged in an exclusive chat with Filmibeat and talked about his journey; from being a content creator to becoming a part of Bollywood film industry and more. Read on..

Munjya's Taran Singh On Joining Bollywood

Taran Singh is a popular content creator and enjoys a huge fan following on Instagram. When we asked him what drew him towards joining Bollywood, Taran replied, "Of course, everyone's dream is to be a part of Bollywood. However, my main motive was never Bollywood, rather I wanted to always build my career as a content creator and make it worthwhile there. Having said that, Bollywood was always there in the back of my mind and this opportunity came as a by-product of my role of being a content creator."

Munjya: Taran Singh Talks About His Journey; From Content Creation To Bollywood Debut

During the exclusive chat, Taran Singh opened up on his journey, passion for content and more. Talking about it, he said, "When I started out somewhere back in 2019, I thought that I would be a Youtuber. I had grown up seeing TVF and AIB videos and I knew then that I wanted to do something on similar lines. I started my internship with TVF, then COVID hit so I had to come back home. But during this time, I tried to learn and experiment with content and started posting lots of content on my page. As times got better, I got a job opportunity with Radio Mirchi Delhi, and for the first six months my role was to create content for them. And rest is history, I just am happy with how my journey has turned out and my passion for content creation has helped me reach where I am today."

Taran Singh On How His Contents Helped Him Bagging His Debut Film Munjya

Taran is mostly known for his funny videos. When we asked him if his comedy skills helped him for playing Spielberg's character in his debut film 'Munjya', he replied saying,

"This is a very interesting question. The truth is I got selected for the role because of my reels and the content I had posted on Instagram. Anmol sir, the Casting director and his team told me about how the comic timing and the face they had envisioned for the character is exactly what they see in my content."

He went on adding, "Having said that, during the filming process, I learnt that acting for social media vis a vis acting for movies is completely different. From the smallest of things such as the placement of your left hand to your right foot in the scene, the right lighting, etc., everything matters while you are shooting for a movie. I am extremely grateful for my role and could not have asked for a better project or a better team to work with. Munjya has been a great learning experience, and I am excited to see the audience's reactions."
