Fighter: Hrithik-Deepika's Aerial Actioner Undergoes Minor Changes; CBFC Ask Makers To Remove ‘Sexual Visuals'

 Fighter CBFC cuts

Fighter CBFC cuts: Filmmaker Siddharth Anand's aerial actioner Fighter has generated massive buzz among audiences. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in the lead, the film promises high-octane action, powerful dialogues, and strong patriotic flavours.

The actors will be seen playing the role of IAF officers, set on a mission to protect the nation against its enemies. As the film is set to release next week, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has completed the censorship process and also suggested some minor modifications to the film.

Cuts suggested by CBFC for Fighter

As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC has suggested four important modifications for Fighter. Following the implementation, the film was granted a U/A (Parental Guidance) certificate on January 19.

Firstly, a mandatory anti-smoking static message was asked to be mentioned in Hindi.

Secondly, an offensive word was muted or replaced in two dialogues, one occurring at 53 minutes and another at 1 hour and 18 minutes.

Third, the censor board has also ordered to remove 'sexually suggested visuals' that lasted for 8 seconds. The board asked the makers to replace it with suitable shots.

Fourth, an audio portion in a TV news visual scene lasting for around 25 seconds was removed and replaced with 23 seconds of audio content.

Meanwhile, Fighter's runtime, as stated on the censor certificate, stands at 166 minutes, which is 2 hours and 46 minutes. The film is slated to hit cinemas worldwide on January 25 and promises a thrilling experience with its aerial action sequences.

Notably, Deepika Padukone and Siddharth Anand's film 'Pathaan' last year created a massive stir, and the film's song 'Besharam Rang' underwent major cuts due to its sensuous dance movements as it went against the board's guidelines.

Fighter is directed by Siddharth Anand and backed by Viacom18 and Marflix Pictures. Besides Hrithik and Deepika, the film also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Ashutosh Rana in key roles.
