Exclusive! Fighter Actor Akshay Oberoi Says, "I Was Afraid To Dance Next To Hrithik Roshan"

There's no doubt that Hrithik Roshan is one of the best dancers we have in the Indian film industry and watching him dance on the big screens is always a treat. In the recently released movie, Hrithik is seen dancing with Anil Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Oberoi and Karan Singh Grover in the track Sher Khul Gaye. While the movie is getting a lukewarm response at the box office, the song has already become a chartbuster.

Filmibeat recently interacted with Akshay Oberoi and when asked him about his experience of doing a dance number with Hrithik, the actor said, "Great question! Unse kandhe se kandha milake dance kiya hai maine. See, I am very confident about my acting talent, so I never get scared and insecured about it. Jitna bhi bada superstar kyu na ho, I always feel I will be able to do my work. Dance is something I learnt from Hrithik Roshan. I think he taught India how to dance. I must have been like 15 or something when I saw Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, and I was like if I want to become an actor in Hindi cinema, I have to learn how to dance, and then 20 years later, here I am doig this big Bollywood number in YRF studios with Siddharth Anand at the helm and Hrithik Roshan at the centre, and I was so nervous."

"Those five days are the only days I felt nervous on set, and I kept practicing, and I looked over and working 10 times harder than me is Hrithik Roshan and that shows you who that man is. I told him 'I am so afriad to dance next to you', and he said, 'no I am afraid to dance, I haven't danced in 4-5 years. So, he kind of made it a lot easier for me to manage. But yes that was quite an experience. For me, he is not only the best dance in India; I feel like his only competition is Michael Jackson. The way his body moves it's like magic," Akshay added.

Akshay plays the role of Squadron Leader Basheer Khan in the film, and he has been getting a positive response for his performance in Fighter.
