Fighter: Hrithik-Deepika-Starrer BANNED In Gulf Countries, Except THIS Nation; Check More Deets

Fighter banned in GCC countries: Just a year after delivering one of the biggest hits, Pathaan, director Siddharth Anand is all set to entertain audiences with the aerial actioner Fighter. Fighter, one of the most anticipated movies of the year, is poised to give a big boost to Bollywood in 2024.
While fans are eagerly awaiting to see the sizzling chemistry between lead pair Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone as they share screen for the first time, the film has got a huge setback as its release has been banned in the GCC countries.
Fighter release banned in GCC nations, except UAE
Just a day before its grand release on January 25, Fighter received a huge blow as its release has been denied in all Gulf countries barring UAE. First reported by Pinkvilla, the report stated that the film couldn't get clearance from the GCC censors.
As per the outlet, the screening of Fighter was held on January 1, and it was officially communicated on January 23 that the Siddharth Anand movie will not see a release in almost all the Gulf countries.
However, more details and the reason behind the ban have not been disclosed yet. Trade analyst Girish tweeted, "In a setback, #Fighter officially banned across Middle East regions for theatrical release. Only UAE will release the film with PG15 classification!"
With this, Fighter will lose its potential business of around 500k to 1 million dollars in the Gulf nations.
Most recently, Tiger 3 was banned in Kuwait and Qatar. Whereas earlier, Mammootty's Malayalam movie Kaathal - The Core, Thalapathy Vijay Vijay's Beast, Sita Ramam, Tamil film FIR, and Mohanlal's Monster were also banned.
There are different parameters on which Gulf countries deny the release of films, including the portrayal of Islamists as extremists, LGBTQ content, and religious grounds.
