Gaurav Manwane, praised for his debut in Khel Khel Mein, is set for another comedy, Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam. Reflecting on his challenging role, he highlights the contrast with his real-life persona and the intense audition process that landed him the part.

Gaurav Manwane recently made a notable debut in the comedy film Khel Khel Mein, starring alongside Akshay Kumar. As he continues to receive praise for his performance, Gaurav is gearing up for another comedic venture, Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam. This family comedy also features Dhvani Bhanushali and Aashim Gulati.
Reflecting on his role, Gaurav mentions that he portrays a roommate to Aashim's character. He describes the part as challenging and quite different from his real-life personality. "It's a challenging role that's completely opposite to who I am in real life and outside my usual comfort zone. The character is a part of what seems to be a situational comedy, and the scene I auditioned with was quite funny. It's a unique and interesting role that allowed me to explore a different side of my acting abilities," he says.
Audition Process
Gaurav recalls receiving a late-night call from the casting team about the audition. Despite the urgency, he was intrigued by the character description and script. "I was briefed about the scene, character, and story. Despite the urgency, I was intrigued by the character description and the script. The audition process was quite intense," he says remembering the "nerve-wracking yet exciting" process.
He performed with two other actors vying for the same role during his initial audition. Although he initially felt uncertain about his performance, he was called back for a retest with director Saurabh Dasgupta the next day. "I performed with two other actors auditioning for the same part. Initially, I thought I hadn't done well, but to my surprise, I was called for a retest with the director, Saurabh Dasgupta, the next day," Gaurav shares.
Bonding with Co-Actors
The actor emphasizes how bonding with his co-stars during preparation significantly impacted his performance. He praises his director's collaborative approach as well. "This collaborative approach helped me delve deeper into the character. Saurabh sir's relaxed and helpful attitude allowed me to explore and perform the character with confidence, despite it being so different from my real-life persona," Gaurav concludes.
During the retest, Gaurav performed alongside another actor playing one of the roommates. The director enjoyed their take on the scene, leading to Gaurav securing the role that same night. "After the retest, where I performed with another actor, who is playing the other roommate, the director seemed to enjoy our take. That same night, I received confirmation that I had bagged the role," he reveals.
Gaurav's journey from receiving an unexpected call to landing a significant role highlights his dedication and adaptability as an actor. His upcoming film promises more laughter and showcases his versatility in tackling diverse roles.
