Exclusive! Gulshan Devaiah On Everyone Talking About His 'Vibe' Statement, "You Have To Be Thick-Skinned"

Gulshan Devaiah has been in the industry for around 14 years now and he has impressed one and all with his performance in many films like Shaitan, Hate Story, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Hunterrr, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, and others. The actor was recently seen in Ulajh which also starred Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role. The movie didn't do well at the box office and received mixed reviews from the critics. However, Gulshan's performance in Ulajh was loved by everyone.
Before the release, Ulajh team did an interview in which a statement of Gulshan talking about not vibing with Janhvi went viral, and now, of course in each and every interview is he being asked about it.
While talking to Filmibeat, he said, "Yes, everyone is saying Vibe Vibe Vibe. It is like that is the only think I want to talk about."
When asked him if he thinks his statement went out of proportion, Gulshan said, "I think it was cut also in a way, it was quite abrupt. In fact, they cut off some portions of what Janhvi said, she said that the producer called her up and told 'hangout with Gulshan'. The intimidation word that she used, she didn't mean it in that way, I think people took it in certain way and people just went behind it a lot. I have noticed, online especially, some of the comments are very nasty. It is not nice to be that nasty. You can have your dislikes and your criticism. If you don't like someone's work, then you can say it, but you cannot be nasty."
"Sometimes you don't have to necessary vibe with somebody to be able to do your job effectively, and I never felt that she was unprofessional or disrespectful. She was a bit reserved but very respectful. It was never felt that it was difficult to work with her," he added.
He further revealed that he is being asked about it in every interview, and he has to repeat himself again and again. The actor said, "Now, every time I do an interview, everybody wants to ask me about the same thing, and I have nothing different to say. It seems like I am having to do this more than what I was required to do. But, this is the nature of this business, sometimes you have to repeat yourself. I don't take these things seriously, and in this business you have to be thick-skinned, it is difficult to survive for thin-skinned people."
