Pakistani celebs lash out at Fighter trailer: Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer, aerial action entertainer Fighter trailer, was unveiled yesterday. While many applauded the visuals and action-packed scenes, some have critiqued the film for having too much jingoism.

Fighter revolves around the 2019 Pulwama attack, and several A-listers from Pakistan showbiz have taken to social media to bash the film for unjustly portraying Pakistan as a villain. Many prominent figures from the neighbouring country have slammed the makers for making bold and explicit anti-Pakistan narratives in the film.

Acclaimed actor Adnan Siddiqui, who worked with Sridevi in Mom, took to his X page and shared, "Once celebrated for love, Bollywood now crafts hate-filled narratives, portraying us as villains. Despite our love for your films, it's disheartening. Art transcends boundaries; let's use it to promote love and peace. Two nations, victims of politics, deserve better."

Actress Zara Noor Abbas mentioned on her IG Story that she was waiting for the trailer, but her enthusiasm died after seeing it. She penned, "I was waiting for the film but I guess now this narrative can f**k off! Auu zara Pakistan occupy karnay, hum bhi chai pila pila keh hisaab lengay."

She also shared a video where she can be seen saying, "It's so funny to see Hrithik Roshan say, 'We are owners, Pakistan has occupied Kashmir'. Why don't Kashmiris are asked whose servants they are? Because they aren't anyone's servants. They deserve an independent state."

Meanwhile, starlet Hania Aamir, who is loved immensely in India, said, "So sad and unfortunate to know that there are artists out there in this day and age who are aware of the power that the cinema holds and still go ahead and feed the riff between the two countries. I feel sorry for the artists who try to bridge the gap by trusting their art as a medium. Distasteful. Let art breathe."

Make-up artist and granddaughter of legendary Madam Noor Jehan, Natasha Ali Lakhani, shared a photo with Hrithik Roshan and shared her discontent in a long note.

Hira Khan stated, "The tea was fantastic tou dalna bhul gaye? (You forgot to add, 'The tea was fantastic?) IOP - in your dreams." She added, "Sad that such big superstars need to bash Pakistan to make [their] movies."

Another actor, Asad Siddiqui, shared on his IG Story his thoughts on the negativity surrounding the film and wrote, "Same old chronicle!" he said. "Aren't you guys tired of selling the same false crap?! Grow up, guys! The world is moving on and getting mature but why do you want to sell this cheap story of hatred? Could have also promoted peace. Don't we have enough hatred in the world that you had to boost more hate [through] this global medium of movies?"
