Exclusive! Richa Chadha On Actresses Getting Good Roles After Having Kids, "Alia Is The Best Example"

Richa Chadha is currently busy garnering praises for her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi. The actress plays the role of Lajjo, and her character dies in the second episode of the series. However, everyone is loving her act especially in the song Masoom Dil Hai Mera.

Richa is soon going to start a new journey in her personal life as she is expecting her first child with husband Ali Fazal. Filmibeat recently interacted with her and while talking about how actresses are breaking stereotypes, and getting good roles even after a certain age and having kids, Richa said, "Alia is the best example; I don't think Deepika is going to retire. Earlier, it used to happen, and if it was happening now, then Manisha would have never got to do Mallika Jaan. There's a huge difference in the audience's acceptability as well."

"There are actresses like Deepti Naval, Shabana Azmi, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and now, Alia; they have not concentrated on all these kinds of thinking. This is a 90s point of view, before that actresses would have career even after getting married and having children. They didn't stop living their lives just to be in the front of camera, and if there's a thinking like that in the industry then we will change it," she added.

Further when asked her if she has thought how she would process in her career after having the baby, Richa said, "I think it's very natural to get married and have children. In my experience in the industry, when Gangs Of Wasseypur came, that was a time when people were not even ready to talk about who they are dating, and today it's just the opposite."

She further added, "Everyone talks about who they are in a relationship with, they put a break up post, vacation photos; so there has been a big shift in actresses having a real life. Apart from that, having babies and choosing to work after baby, all these things are very normal now. I think that thing is not there anymore, and if it is there, then it's very sad."

Richa revealed that now she is going to take a break for 4-5 months, and will start working on her next project by the end of this year. She also revealed that she has shot for a film in which she plays the role of a nurse.
