Veteran Bollywood actress and Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan was caught up in controversy after a video of her getting furious at the parliament when she was called 'Jaya Amitabh Bachchan' by the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman, Harivansh Narayan Singh, went viral on the internet.

In the video, the deputy chairperson was heard calling Jaya as "Shrimati Jaya Amitabh Bachchan ji, please." To which the actress replied, "Sir, sirf Jaya Bachchan bolte to kaafi hojata (It would've been enough to call me Jaya Bachchan)."

Now, the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actress is in headlines once again over the Amitabh Bachchan name row. In a video, which is going viral now, Jaya Bachchan is seen getting schooled by Rajya Sabha Chairman Jahdeep Dhankhar.

In the viral video, Dhankhar is seen introducing the actress-MP as 'Smt Jaya Amitabh Bachchan' in the Rajya Sabha, as her official name on her nomination papers. Reacting to the same, the actress raised an objection and stated, "Sir, aapko Amitabh ka matlab pata hai na?" To which, the Chairman replied, "Ma'am aap badal dijiye, main badalwa dunga. There is a procedure to change the name that you have submitted for your election certificate. I had made use of the provision myself in 1989, and it is available for all the members. Please change it officially then."

Sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter), the user wrote, "What's wrong with Jaya Bachchan? On one hand, she says she is very proud of her husband; on the other hand, she has a problem with the Speaker calling her by her full name-the name she provided herself. Glad that Jagdeep Dhankhar ji taught her a lesson."
