Jaya Bachchan's Old Video Of Saying Aishwarya Rai Not 'Her Daughter' Goes Viral

An old video of Jaya Bachchan, where she could be seen giving interviews to designers, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, went viral. In the video, she could be heard being asked if she was strict to Aishwarya after admitting that she is very 'strict' to Abhishek and Shweta, to which Jaya Bachchan had a very logical answer. She said, "Strict? She's not my daughter! She's my daughter-in-law. Why should I be strict with her? I'm sure her mother has done that for her."

In the video she further talked about having a different equation with parents and parents-in-law, she said, "There is a difference between a daughter and a daughter-in-law, you know. I mean, I don't know why, but you don't feel you don't need to respect your parents. As a daughter, you take your parents for granted. With your in-laws, you can't do that."

She further added, "And later on, things change - because today, I feel more a Bachchan than a Bhaduri."

How Reddit Users Reacted To The Video

After the video goes viral, one user wrote, "Surprised to see Jaya making total sense here," another wrote, "What she is saying isn't wrong," One user commented, "I genuinely think she's just one of those people who become more and more rigid as time goes on to the point of eventually being insufferable. Like sure, I know outside factors must have affected her too, no doubt about it, but some old folks just get more stubborn with time."
