The movie has been in controversy because of Sikh community's portrayal in it.

Kangana Ranaut & Team's Meeting Scheduled As Emergency Gets Postponed

Emergency is a biographical political drama where Kangana plays the role of Indira Gandhi. The movie surely will touch a lot of sensitive topic. Kangana claimed that there is pressure about not showing Indira Gandhi's assassination, Punjab riots and many other things. With frustration Kangana says, "I don't know ki phr kya dikhayein."
