Kangana Ranaut Issued Notice By HP High Court; Parliament Membership Threatened As Justice Demands Reply

Himachal HC Issued Notice To Kangana Ranaut: Kangana Ranaut recently won Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, Lok Sabha seats from BJP. Things took a turn in actress turned politician's life when Himachal Pradesh high court issued a notice to Kangana. According to the reports, the notice from high court was issued to Kangana after a petition for allegedly wrongly rejecting the nomination paper was filed. Let us further look into the details.

Kangana Ranaut Issued Notice By Himachal Pradesh High Court

On Wednesday, a petition was filed by a Kinnaur resident, Layak Ram Negi. According to PTI's reports, Layak claimed that his nomination papers were wrongly rejected by the returning officer. Layak who is a former government employee of forest department said that he got a voluntary retirement from the service. After the same, a "no dues" certificate was produced from the department. Layak when filed his nomination as an independent candidate, he was given a day to present the "no due certificate" from water, electricity and telephone department. Even after allegedly submitting them, his nomination was then rejected by the returning officer.

To note, Layak submitted his election papers on May 14 and submitted the required documents on May 15. Layak claims that he would have won election if the papers were no rejected. After reviewing the matter Justice Jyotsna Rewal issued a notice, asking Kangana Ranaut to file a reply by August 21, 2024.

Kangana won Mandi Lok Sabha seat with 5,37,002 votes while Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh got 4,62,267 votes.
