The film is now all set to re-release again on 22nd November. While everyone who has been a part of the film are around, there are two actors who are not there. Amrish Puri has passed away, and Mamta Kulkarni has left the industry.
Filmibeat recently interacted with Rakesh Roshan and spoke to him about these two actors. When asked if he is missing Amrish Puri sir as they are re-releasing the film, and celebrating its 30 years, the veteran filmmaker said, "Yes, I am missin him a lot. I would have been very happy if he was there with us today, but unfortunately he is not there. If somebody wants to make a film again on this story, there are actors available, but Amrish Puri is not available. That kind of a character, no one will be able to do."
When asked him about Mamta Kulkarni, he said, "Maybe she is reading somewhere on social media and must be knowing that we are re-releasing. I am not in touch with her at all. I don't know where she is."
Mamta Kulkarni was one of the most popular actresses in the 90s. She had been a part of many successful films like Waqt Hamara Hai, Aashiq Awara, Krantiveer, Karan Arjun, China Gate, and others. But, after 2002, she left the industry. However, her song, Gup Chup Gup Chup, from Karan Arjun is one of the most iconic songs made in Bollywood.
