Exclusive! Karan Arjun Re-Release: Rakesh Roshan Reveals, "Only Salman Khan Was Convinced With The Story"

Karan Arjun Re-Release: Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan starrer Karan Arjun is all set for a re-release in theatres on 22nd November 2024. The movie was release around 30 years ago, and was a blockbuster at the box office. It is regarded as one of the classics, and of course, the movie gave Salman and Shah Rukh Khan the much-needed boost in their respective careers. It has been 30 years since the film released, but still we remember the dialogues and the songs of the movie.

Filmibeat recently interacted with Rakesh Roshan, and spoke to him about the movie. When asked him if industry tried to explain him that making a movie on reincarnation might be a risk, he said, "80% of my crew members were not convinced. Only person who was convinced was Salman and my dialogue writer; otherwise nobody was convinced. Shah Rukh Khan was not convinced at all. When they saw the sincerity and dedication that I am making the film, so they were slowly convinced that maybe this can happen (work). When the film released, the audience lapped it up."

While talking about re-releasing Karan Arjun, Roshan said, "I don't know if the audience still wants to come and see. I am taking a chance by re-releasing this film because we are celebrating its 30 years. So, let's see what the response it will get and if the magic will be recreated. Even if we get 5% response of what we got that at time it will be a big deal."

30 years ago when Karan Arjun had released, the movie had collected Rs. 25.29 crore which was surely a huge amount for a movie released in 1995. It was the second highest grossing film of the year. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, the movie also starred Rakhee, Kajol and Mamta Kulkarni in the lead roles.
