Karan Johar-Kartik Aaryan Upcoming War Movie Updates: Karan Johar's alleged fight with Kartik Aaryan over 'Dostana 2' had created quite a stir in the internet. Back in 2019, KJo had announced 'Dostana 2' with Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor and Laskhya. However, the sequel got shelved after Kartik's exit. While the reason behind Kartik's exit is yet-to-be-known, it turned his relationship with the filmmaker sour. A couple of years after, reports of their patch up started doing rounds after KJo announced a new film with the 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' actor on his birthday. Now, we hear that the said film has been put hold.

Karan Johar Announced New Movie With Kartik Aaryan Over Viral 'Dostana 2' Feud

Last year on Kartik Aaryan's birthday, Karan Johar announced am untitled war film with the Freddy actor, co-produced by Ektaa R. Kapoor. Directed by Sandeep Modi, the movie was scheduled to hit cinemas on 15th August 2025. The movie was slated to go on floors on October this year.

Announcing the film on Instagram, Karan wrote, "Kickstarting today with some special news on a special day!! Extremely thrilled to announce @dharmamovies & @balajimotionpictures coming together for a film helmed by the exceptionally talented @sandeipm. I find myself elated to also announce the supremely talented @kartikaaryan as our lead for this story that will unfold in cinemas on 15th August, 2025!!!! Kartik, happy birthday to you...may our collaboration only grow from strength to strength from hereon and never cease to create magic on the big screen🧡🧡🧡"

Karan Johar Puts War Film With Kartik Aaryan On Hold

According to the latest Bollywood Hungama report, Karan Johar has put his upcoming war drama with Kartik Aaryan on hold after the dull response for his last war film 'Yoddha' with Sidharth Malhotra.

There is an overdose of patriotic films set against the backdrop of wars. Karan has identified the market trends after Yoddha and has decided to put Sandeep Modi and Kartik Aaryan's next on hold," a source informed the portal.

Reportedly, his film with Salman Khan - Bull - has also been shelved.
