Khel Khel Mein: Will Independence Day Prove Lucky For Akshay Kumar Once Again?

Khel Khel Mein: In Bollywood, we have a trend that superstars follow; like Aamir Khan mostly releases his films during Christmas weekend, Salman Khan has a release during Eid, and from the past many years, we have been having a trend that Akshay Kumar has a release during the Independence Day weekend.

His movies like Brothers (2015), Rustom (2016), Toilet Ek Prem Katha (2017), Gold (2018), Mission Mangal (2019), (No releases in 2020 and 2021 due to lockdown), Raksha Bandhan (2022), Oh My God 2 (2023). Well, from these seven films, five were hits, and two failed to make a mark at the box office.

We all know that Akshay is not having a great run at the ticket windows, and while OMG 2, in which he had a cameo was a hit, his films as leads have been not doing well at the box office. His last release Sarfira received positive reviews from the critics, but it is a box office disaster.

However now, Akshay is all set to be back on the big screens soon with Khel Khel Mein. The first look poster of the film has been released today and it looks quite fun. Apart from Akshay, the movie also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Ammry Virk, Fardeen Khan, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal.

Khel Khel Mein is a comedy drama revolving around friends and how one night their secrets are revealed. The movie is a remake of Italian film Perfect Strangers which had won many awards. While after seeing the first look poster of Khel Khel Mein, we can say that it looks like a very refreshing film.

If we see, Independence Day weekend has been quite lucky for Akshay as out of seven films five have done well at the box office. So, it will be interesting to see what response Khel Khel Mein will get at the ticket windows.

Khel Khel Mein, Stree 2, Vedaa Clash

The movie is going to clash with Sree 2 and Vedaa, and already the trailer of Stree 2 has been released and it has received a fantastic response. If we leave Stree 2 aside, it is John vs Akshay at the box office again. Earlier also multiple time on Independence Day weekend their films have clashed at the box office.
