Kiran Rao Gets Emotional As Laapataa Ladies Did Not Make It To Oscars 2025
After it was revealed that Laapataa Ladies did not make it to the Oscars 2025, Kiran Rap took to Instagram to express her emotions. She wrote, "Laapataa Ladies (Lost Ladies) did not make it to the Academy Awards shortlist this year, and we are of course disappointed, but equally we are immensely grateful for the incredible support and belief we've received throughout this journey (sic)." The director further extended her gratitude to Academy members and the FFI jury for considering their film. Many people in the comment section stood in support of Kiran Rao, claiming that the film has won hearts that are better than any Oscars.
Ravi Kishan Unable To Reach Kira Rao
Ravi Kishan, one of the stars of Laapataa Ladies, had placed high hopes for the film. He truly believed that it would make its way to the Oscars and bring home the coveted trophy. While not seeing that dream come to fruition has left him disheartened, he is focused on finding the silver lining in the situation. Ravi Kishan said to News18, "I couldn't have imagined that a common man like me could reach the Oscars. That was a big high (sic)."
When asked whether he got a chance to speak with Kiran Rao ever since the news was announced, Ravi Kishan said, "I tried Kiran's number many a few times. But I couldn't reach her. She must be disheartened. She recently flew back to Mumbai after spending a month in the USA. She along with Aamir Khan was busy campaigning for Laapataa Ladies. They must be jetlagged (sic)." However, Ravi Kishan calls Kiran his lucky charm as she brought him back to the limelight. To note, Laapata Ladies is available to stream on Netflix.
