Exclusive! Siddharth P Malhotra On Teaming Up With Rani Mukerji Again, "The Script Must Be Challenging..."

Siddharth P Malhotra made his directorial debut with We Are Family and later directed Hichki starring Rani Mukerji. His recently released film, Maharaj, has also become the talk of the town, and it is getting a lot of praises. Hichki marked Rani's comeback on the big screen after her maternity break, and the movie was a hit at the box office.

Filmibeat recently interacted with Siddharth and when asked him if he would like to team up with Rani again, the filmmaker said, "In a heart beat, but she has to decide. I will keep going back to her with one script, another script. Rani is a gut actor; she is an actor who is got to feel that this will challenge me and will be worth my time, and worth my time to stay away from Adira whom she is obsessed about, only then she will say yes to that film."

"The script must be challenging enough for her to spend that few hours away from Adira otherwise she is not doing that. In anything that I work, the effort is that if I have a role for someone of her calibre, then it is all up there (in God's hands). If it happens, I will be the happiest," he added.

While talking about Maharaj, the the filmmaker also revealed that Rani was the first one to watch the movie. He said, "Rani was the first one who saw the film. She loved it, and she is like a Satyam Shivam Sundaram person, she will tell you on your face 'this is bekar'. She genuinely loved it, and she is someone who has always been a very strong support in my life. I am grateful to have her in my life as a friend and an actor, but more as a friend. She is my Naina ma'am, she will correct me, I am her 9F student (laughs)."

During our interaction, Siddharth also revealed that after Maharaj he has now signed the biggest film of his career. But, didn't reveal any details about it.
