According to News 18, the post-mortem was conducted on Wednesday night around 8 p.m. The findings confirmed that multiple injuries were the cause of death. Earlier, investigators suggested a possible suicide.
Investigation Details
DCP Crime Branch Raj Tilak Roshan stated that Anil Mehta's body was discovered on the 6th floor of his residence. Forensic teams are currently investigating further. While initial assessments point to suicide, a comprehensive investigation is ongoing.
India Today reported that Anil Mehta had called his daughters, Malaika and Amrita, shortly before the incident. He expressed his exhaustion by saying, "I'm tired." This call happened just before the tragic event unfolded.
Family's Immediate Response
Malaika Arora was in Pune when she received the news about her father's death. She immediately returned to Mumbai to be with her family. Both she and her sister Amrita rushed to their mother's home to support each other during this challenging time.
