Mumbai Police Trace Salman Khan's Threat Call To Karnataka: Mysterious Caller Identified as 'Venkatesh'
Salman Khan has received threatening calls linked to past incidents, prompting Mumbai Police to investigate and boost security. This situation highlights ongoing safety concerns for public figures.

Salman Khan, a prominent Bollywood actor, has once again been thrust into the limelight not for his cinematic ventures but due to receiving a threatening phone call. The Mumbai Police, acting swiftly on this disturbing development, pinpointed the call's source to Karnataka. The investigation revealed the name associated with this threat: Venkatesh. This incident has led to increased security measures for Khan, highlighting the ongoing safety concerns surrounding him.
The threat, made directly against Salman Khan and referencing Lawrence Bishnoi, was received at the traffic police control room. This explicit mention of Bishnoi, a known gangster with purported ties to the community aggrieved by Khan's past actions, has escalated the situation. Mumbai Police's diligent tracking efforts led them to a contact registered under Venkatesh in Karnataka, prompting the dispatch of a police team to delve deeper into the matter.
In the wake of the threat, Mumbai Police released a statement clarifying the nature and reception of the menacing call. They specified that on the night of November 7, 2024, a threat was directed at Salman Khan and the lyricist of the song "Main Sikandar Hoo," received through the traffic helpline. A formal case has been filed at Worli Police Station, indicating the seriousness with which this threat is being taken.
This latest threat call is part of a series of intimidating messages and calls that Salman Khan has been receiving, which are believed to be linked to his involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. The incident, occurring during the filming of "Hum Saath Saath Hain," severely angered the Bishnoi community, to whom the blackbuck is a sacred animal. Lawrence Bishnoi, representing this community, has demanded a public apology from Salman Khan, threatening severe consequences if not complied with. Despite these demands, the threats have persisted, underscoring the deep-seated animosity towards Khan.
Adding to the climate of fear, Shah Rukh Khan, another titan of the Indian film industry, has also received a threat call. According to reports, the call demanding a Rs 50 lakh ransom originated from a Raipur resident named Faizan. Mumbai Police is actively investigating this threat, indicating a possible pattern of targeting high-profile celebrities.
These incidents come in the wake of the murder of political leader Baba Siddique, further intensifying concerns about safety. An alleged member of Bishnoi's gang claimed responsibility for Siddique's murder, simultaneously issuing a threat to Salman Khan. In response to these threats, Mumbai Police have escalated security measures for Khan, including deploying an escort vehicle and positioning the Special Reserve Police Force (SRPF) at his residences.
The ongoing threats against Salman Khan underscore the precarious nature of security for public figures, prompting law enforcement to remain vigilant. As investigations continue in Karnataka and Raipur, the hope is to quell these disturbing threats and ensure the safety of those targeted.
