Exclusive! Munjya Actor Abhay Verma On Replacing Alia Bhatt & Shraddha Kapoor, "There's No Competition..."

Munjya starring Abhay Verma, Sharvari, and Mona Singh has turn out to be one of the biggest hits of the year. The film has collected around Rs. 62 crore in 12 days which is excellent. Well, a few days ago, in an interview, Abhay had revealed that his character Bitto was earlier a female character and later the makers decided to change it into a male character. He had also revealed that before him, Shraddha Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, were considered for the role.

Filmibeat recently interacted with Abhay and when asked that whether he has got any reactions from the audiences about them comparing him with Alia and Shraddha, the actor said, "There can't be any competition, they are wonderful actors, so there can't be any comparison. They are very experience, and I am aspired by Alia and Shraddha both in some or the other ways. So, there's no competition as such, it is just a fun thing that Bitto's character was written for a girl before, and then after working on the script for 4-5 years, the director came up with the idea of changing it into a boy, and the opportunity fell on my hand."

"So, that was just a jittery kind of a feeling I expressed. It feels good to replace an actress because that has not happened before (laughs). So, it was a fun thing that I discussed and it got picked up," he added.

Well, we are sure if Shraddha and Alia were there in Munjya, they would have performed it wonderfully. But of course, we cannot ignore the fact that even Abhay has done a great job in the movie.

Stree 2 after Munjya

Munjya was the fourth movie in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe. Now, everyone is eagerly waiting for Stree 2 which is slated to release on 15th August 2024. The teaser of the film was recently attached with Munjya in theatres, and it has been leaked online, and people are loving it.
