Nawazuddin Siddiqui Recalls Working As Watchman In Mumbai

Nawazuddin Siddiqui became the talk-of-the-town ever since he revealed that he'd work as a watchman during his initial days in Mumbai despite not having a poor family background financially. During his recent chat with Shubhankar Mishra, the 50-year-old shared the reason behind the same.

Talking about it, Nawazuddin explained that he deliberately took up a job of a watchman in Mumbai because he didn't want to take financial help from his family. He said,

"Meri shakal soorat aisi thi, main gareeb toh nahi tha (My face is like that, but I was never poor. That's because I would not take money from home. There was money at home always, thoda bohot paisa tha (it was manageable)... but I didn't want to take money from my family because I was doing a job of my choice (acting) without even telling them."

The self-made actor further added that he was following his passion (acting) without telling his family about it, so he wanted to earn money in whichever way possible.

"That's because I would not take money from home. My parents were always ready to give me money, they'd say, 'kuch problem ho toh le le. You aren't asking for any money and we don't even know what you are doing," the actor concluded.

On the work front, his latest film 'Rautu Ki Raaz' released on June 28 on Zee5. He has 'Section 108' and ''Noorani Chehra among others lined up ahead of him.
