Nayanthara
starrer
Annapoorani,
began
streaming
on
Netflix
on
December
29.
But
it
was
subsequently
removed
from
the
platform
following
FIRs
that
claimed
it
hurt
Hindu
sentiments.
Some
of
the
controversial
scenes
include
Nayanthara's
character
offering
namaz
in
a
hijab
before
cooking
biryani,
despite
her
playing
a
Hindu
brahmin
girl
in
the
film.
In
another
scene,
a
friend
allegedly
tells
her
to
cut
meat,
saying
that
even
Lord
Rama
and
Goddess
Sita
consumed
meat.
Many
others
accused
the
film
of
promoting
"love
jihad."
