The Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) recently recently announced the names of the movies that made it to the final shortlist for 97th Academy Awards (Oscars 2025). While Indian fans were left heartbroken after Laapata Ladies took its exit from Oscars race, they are keeping their hope alive after 'Anuja' securing a position in the 'Best Live Live-Action Short Film' category.

2-Time Academy Award-winner Guneet Monga has all the reasons to be on cloud nine as 'Anuja', backed by Guneet, has been shortlisted under the Best Live Action Short Film category for Oscars 2025.
Directed by Adm J. Graves, 'Anuja' is produced by Guneet Monga along with Suchitra Mattai, Mindy Kaling, Shine Global's Alexandra Blaney, Krushan Naik, and Aaron Kopp. The short film sheds light on the issue of child labour in the garment industry. It follows the heart-wrenching story of two sisters Anuja (played by Sajda Pathan) and Palak (played by Ananya Shanbhag) who work in a garment factory in Delhi, navigating poverty.
