The month of February is ending on a very sad note for the entertainment industry. Days after the demise of renowned actor Rituraj Singh, the tinsel town has lost another legend. We are talking about legendary ghazal singer Pankaj Uhas who breathed his last at the age of 92. According to media reports, Pankaj died of a prolonged illness.

The media reports also suggested that Pankaj was hospitalised in Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital where he took his last breath on February 26. The news of Pankaj Udhas' demise has sent a wave of shock and grief across the industry. To note, this unfortunate news was confirmed by Pankaj Udhas' daughter Nayab who wrote, "With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of the sad demise of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas on 26th February 2024 due to a prolonged illness. Udhas Family".

As the social media is mourning Pankaj Udhas' demise, his last social media post has been going viral and is leaving netizens in tears. To note, Pankaj's last Instagram and Facebook post happens to be a Diwali wish which he had shared on Diwali 2023. He captioned the post as, "May the festival of lights bring you new hopes and new dreams. May the divine light of Diwali illuminate your life and banish all darkness. Wishing you a prosperous and healthy Diwali. May the festival of lights bring you peace and joy. Wishing you a Diwali filled with sweet treats and good memories."

As the post is going viral, netizens took to the comment section and offered their condolences. A user wrote, "So shocked. Miss you sir" while another user commented, "Thank you sir for your peaceful voice".

On the other hand, several celebs were seen mourning Pankaj Udhas' demise on social media. Abhishek Bachchan also took to the micro-blogging site Twitter (now X) and wrote, "Very saddened by Pankaj Udhas ji's passing. His demise is an irreplaceable loss to our music world. My sincere condolences to his family and friends in this difficult time. Om Shanti".

Manoj Bajpayee has also mourned Pankaj Udhas' demise and wrote, "Saddening!!! Rest in peace Pankaj udhas ji ! Had the privilege of listening to you and getting mesmerised by the sweet texture of your voice and Sur ! ॐ शान्ति उत्तम कलाकार उत्तम इंसान !"
