Patralekhaa Shares Why She Was Nervous Before Starting Shoot

After an eye-catching performance in her recent film Wild Wild Punjab, Patralekhaa is all set to mesmerize the audience in the upcoming biopic Phule, where she plays the role of the revolutionary reformer Savitribai Phule. The film was announced in April and is set to release later this year.

During a recent interview, the City Lights actress shared a few insights on portraying the character of Savitribai Phule. She mentioned how she felt anxious because it was a significant duty to portray this character. Patralekhaa stated, "I remember two or four days before I was going to start shooting for Phule, I was sitting at home crying. I was thinking how can I do this. This is the story of Savitribai Phule. I believe she was the type of woman who brought about significant transformations in society. This is why I was extremely nervous about taking the role of Savitribai."

Alongside Patralekhaa, Pratik Gandhi will be seen playing the role of Mahatma Govindrao Phule. On the work front, some of her other upcoming projects include Anubhav Sinha's 'IC814: The Kandahar Hijack' and 'Gulkanda Tales'.
