Interstellar could not re-release at IMAX screens in India because of Pushpa 2 as both the movies were set to release on December 5, 2024. Addressing the same, Tatva made a post on Instagram. On the same post, Devara actress Janhvi Kapoor replied, "Pushpa 2 is also cinema. Why are we so obsessed with idolising the west and running down things that come out of our own country and instantly disqualifying it from being considered as worthy? The same rooted representation and larger than life tone other countries appreciate and our fascinated by our cinema for, we ourselves are embarrassed of. Sad. (sic)." People in the comment section called out Janhvi Kapoor for not knowing how important it is for the maker to release their film on an IMAX screen, especially when its Christopher Nolan's movie.

To note, Pushpa 2 is ruling the box office. The movie made a phenomenal collection of Rs. 164.25 Crore on its opening day at India net box office collection. As of evening report of Sacnilk, Pushpa 2 has made a collection of around 50 Crore. It is expected that the movie will at least make 70-80 Crore on Day 2.
