While there are many important characters in Ramayana, one character because of which the actual rivalry between Lord Ram and Raavan starts is Shurpanakha. According to a report in Pinkvilla, Rakul Preet Singh is in talks to play the role of Shurpanakha in the film.

A source told the portal that the actress and the filmmaker were in talks for a while, and now, the casting of Shurpanakha is in place. The source further stated that the actress is excited to be a part of Ramayana and the paperwork will happen soon.

Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is undoubtedly one of the most awaited upcoming films. Reportedly, the movie goes on the floors next month with Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, and the makers are eyeing to release it on Diwali 2025.
