Exclusive! Komal Nahta Exposes Corporate Booking Scam; Says, "Ranbir Ne Animal Ke Liye 1 Rupee Ki Bhi..."

Corporate Booking Scam: From the past few months, we have been reading one word on social media a lot which is 'Corporate Booking'. Whenever a film becomes a blockbuster at the box office and the collections are on higher side, we start hearing that there's corporate booking done. Even layman has started posting about it on social media.

Filmibeat recently interacted with Trade Analyst Komal Nahta and when asked him what exactly corporate booking means, he said, "Corporate booking booking is where a film's hero or producers buy tickets in bulk of crores and then they give those free tickets to their corporate partners; whether they go or don't go, but on record the sale of the ticket has been done. Of course, the half money from that is going to come back to either the producer or the actor because 50% is of producer and 50% of exhibitor. So, if they buy tickets of Rs. 4 crore, Rs. 2 crore is their investment."

No Corporate Booking For Animal

He further stated, "Sadly, nowadays they don't believe in promotions. They say whether it will reach the target audience or not, but this comes on record that Rs. 4 crore tickets have been sold. This is very wrong but many stars are indulging in this, however there are stars who don't believe in this. For instance, Animal was recently released, we didn't hear that the film's producer or Ranbir Kapoor has bought the ticket of even 1 rupee. Then there are stars whose films have become super-duper blockbuster, despite that they do corporate booking to show higher figures."
