Did you guys know Ratan Tata was once romantically involved with former Bollywood actress-talk show host Simi Garewal? Despite their breakup, the duo remained close friends over the years.

On Thursday morning (October 10), Simi Garewal took to Twitter (now X) and penned an emotional note mourning over Ratan Tata's death.

Finding it "too hard to bear", the former actress wrote, "They say you have gone .. It's too hard to bear your loss..too hard.. Farewell my friend..#RatanTata"

Back in 2011, the 'Mera Naam Joker' actress had opened up on her relationship with the renowned industrialist during an interview with ETimes. "Ratan and I go back a long way. He's perfection, he's got a sense of humour, is modest, and the perfect gentleman. Money was never his driving force. He's not as relaxed in India as he is abroad," the actress had told the daily.

Ratan Tata had also appeared on Simi Garewal's iconic talk show 'Rendezvous With Simi Garewal' and revealed why he never got married. When Ratan Ji was asked about why he to remain bachelor, he stated, "I don't know what motivated me to that. There are many times I feel lonely, not having a wife or a family. Sometimes I long for it, sometimes I enjoy the freedom of not having to worry about someone else, or the the feelings of someone else's concern. Another times it gets very lonely."

"Whole series of things - timing, my absorption in work at that time. I got very close to getting married few times but it didn't happen," he added.
