Sahil Salathia Sends A Strong Message On Privilege This World Environment Day

Sahil Salathia

Fashion icon and actor Sahil Salathia is a happy-go-lucky person, always at the peak of his energy, but this World Environment Day, he used his access on social media to highlight the adverse effect we are having on nature, not just with our lifestyle but also with our privilege.

Recounting a conversation with one of his friends, Sahil shared how he was told by his friend that India is the best country to live in because of the ability to hire servants to do their work, and Sahil countered him not by pointing out the obvious, but rather saying, "We are the masters of exploiting resources."

How does this incident relate to the environment though? Sahil says, "Because nothing will ever be done about any sector if it doesn't affect the top percentage of the country. Why should i give a f*ck about this f*ck-all black beach when I am flying to The Maldives every now and then." He adds, "To heal the environment, there can not be any class system which is the base of Incredible India! Everyone has to be put on a job. Earlier, all of this would affect me so much. Now, I am so sanitised. Nothing pierces my soul like it used to." Sharing a strong picture of him on a polluted beach, Sahil hoped that people would see how 'haunting' it is.
