Shah Rukh Khan on 4 years hiatus: Shah Rukh Khan never misses an opportunity to amaze his fans with his powerful performances and touching speeches. The superstar ruled the box office in 2023 with three back-to-back blockbusters - Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki.

However, before their release, Shah Rukh was on a hiatus for over four long years. Recently, the actor opened up about the gap prior to his 2023 films and revealed the reason behind it. SRK also mentioned that he has no further plans to take another long hiatus from the film industry.

Shah Rukh Khan addresses taking acting break

During a recent interaction with his fans at an event, Shah Rukh expressed his gratitude for the love and support he and his films received from fans last year. A video showed the star addressing a large crowd of fans, where he can be seen talking about his career trajectory.

For the unversed, SRK returned to screen in 2023 after 218 Zero. Many of his movies were not doing well. But his comeback after a long break brought overwhelming success for the actor.

Talking about the gap, he said, "It's new because I have been working for 33 years, and you take such a big gap. Normally, you get a little nervous, and you feel that, 'I hope I've got the film right'."

He then added, "Usse pehle kuch meri filmein thi jo itni acchi nahi gayi toh mujhe lagne laga tha ki main acchi filmein bana nhi raha hun. But I think more than my films, ek pyaar tha logo ka jo Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki ke liye."

Further, he said, "I think this whole country and people outside this country from India have actually taken me to their heart more than the films and said that, 'Are 4 saal ke liye mat jaya karo, 2-4 mahine theek hai."

"So, I'm very very thankful to all of you, to the audience and the whole world for making me realise ki jo main karta hun woh theek karta hun aur mujhe woh baar baar karte rehna chahiye."

Shah Rukh Khan on the work front

One of the highest-grossing films of 2023, Pathaan, was followed by Atlee's action thriller Jawan and Rajkumar Hirani's drama Dunki, which was based on illegal immigrants.

Although details about the actor's upcoming projects have not been disclosed, rumours suggest that SRK will be a part of Tiger vs Pathaan and Dhoom 4. He is likely to begin work by mid-2024 on a new project as well.
