While
nowadays
it
becomes
a
big
deal
when
a
Bollywood
actor
stars
in
a
South
pan-India
film,
Shilpa
Shetty
is
one
actress
who
had
worked
in
South
movies
in
90s
itself.
The
actress
will
next
be
seen
in
KD
which
is
a
Kannada
film,
but
will
be
dubbed
and
released
in
various
languages
including
Hindi.
The
movie
also
stars
Dhruva
Sarja,
V.
Ravichandran,
Reeshma
Nanaiah
and
Sanjay
Dutt.
Filmibeat
recently
interacted
with
Shilpa
and
when
we
asked
her
about
the
debate
that
was
happening
on
social
media
about
South
taking
over
Bollywood,
the
actress
said,
"Kuch
toh
log
kahenge,
logo
ka
kaam
hai
kehna!
I
listen
from
one
ear
and
take
it
out
from
another.
These
are
all
phases.
People
are
interested
only
in
content,
it
doesn't
matter
where
it
comes
from.
There
have
been
films
that
have
become
cult
from
Bengali
cinema
and
its
different
kind
of
content.
It
depends
on
what
your
target
audience
is."
"South
filmmakers
are
making
massy
films
and
filmmakers
in
Bollywood
are
making
stuff
that
is
very
urban;
the
men
are
all
looking
very
metrosexual
which
is
not
a
bad
thing.
But,
somewhere
whole
heroism
comes
from
when
you
are
earthy;
the
whole
massiness
comes
from
there.
So,
I
feel
people
are
wanting
to
see
something
that's
more
real
and
they
are
feeling
associated
with
the
Southern
brand
of
film.
But,
that
doesn't
take
away
from
the
films
that
are
churned
out
by
Bollywood
filmmakers.
Bollywood
is
and
will
always
be
very
aspirational," Shilpa
added.
Shilpa
is
currently
busy
garnering
praises
for
her
fantastic
performance
in
Indian
Police
Force.
The
series,
which
also
stars
Sidharth
Malhotra
and
Vivek
Oberoi,
started
streaming
on
Amazon
Prime
Video
yesterday,
and
the
actress' performance
as
Tara
Shetty
has
grabbed
everyone's
attention.
She
is
the
first
female
cop
in
Rohit
Shetty's
cop
universe
and
she
has
nailed
it.
