Entertainment Highlights: Mohanlal Resigns As AMMA President; Stree 2 Enters 400 Cr Club In India

Rajkumar Rao posted on Instagram a couple of photos in which he gave his fans a glance of deleted scenes from Stree 2. In the photos, actor Rajkumar is dressed as a girl, wearing skirt and top. He wrote, "#Stree2 One of my favourite scenes from the film which didn’t make it to the Final Cut. Kya aap log dekhna chahte hain ye scene film mein? Aap sab batao? @amarkaushik." As he uploaded these photos, Shraddha commented, "YES!!! Vicky please daal do do do do lo lo lo lo lo."

Famed singer Mariah Carey said in a media statement that her mother Patricia and sister Alison died the same day over weekend. She said to People, "My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day." The Grammy-winner said, "I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed. I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time."

Sharvari spoke up and broke the silence on the poor box office reception of Vedaa. She said, "“Honestly, there are two different ways of looking at this. For me, I think in Vedaa, my heart was in the role and the performance of it. I really feel that the film had its heart in the right place. Now business decisions, whether things work or not is beyond me because this is only my third film in theatres. So, that is something I am still learning, and I am still a student of understanding how this translates and what is the right thing in terms of business." She added, "I think this role was very difficult, and challenging and very out of my comfort zone. So, when I get audience love for it, I’m satisfied because I took the little leap of faith in my performance. It could have gone a hundred other ways. For it to have gone in the right way for me is a big win. I haven’t done drama, which is also very difficult, and this was a big success for me."

Nani said that he is scared to scroll online amid the Hema Committee report. He said, ""This has been bothering me starting with the Nirbhaya case (2012 Delhi gang rape and murder case). It never stops and it continuously keeps disturbing us. I have spoken to a lot of five and seven-year-olds in this generation... somehow this generation is extra smart... I feel the better (future) is coming. I believe the situation will be better than it is today. They will be much better than us."

Actor Mohanlal resigned as the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) president. The reports further suggested that the committee submitted their joint resignation. Things come to limelight after two high-profile resignations took place over sexual abuse after Hema Committee report.

Director Anand L. Rai reveals whether Tanu and Manu 3 is in the works. Hinting at the possibility, the director said, " “I know there have been questions. Where Tanu Weds Manu Returns ended... does it deserve to get a sequel from there? It only depends on the story, nothing else. We are working on the story. It is a big responsibility to get the characters back with a bigger story. I am on it, and I will be on floors the day it’s cracked.”

Producer Rajan Shahi reacted to the rumors of Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna quitting the show. Labeling it as false, the director said, "This is completely false. Both Gaurav and Rupali are very much part of the show and their characters are integral to the story."

The horror-comedy broke all the records to become the highest Hindi earner of the year by minting Rs. 400 Cr at the domestic box office. On Monday, the Janmashtami day, the movie collected Rs. 17 Cr.
