Exclusive! Stree 2 Writer Niren Bhatt On Success Credit Debate, "There's Of Course A Writer And A Director..."

Stree 2 has turned out to the biggest hit of 2024 till date. The movie starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana will be easily crossing the Rs. 500 crore mark at the box office. Stree 2 is directed by Amar Kaushik, and it is written by Niren Bhatt who had also written Bhediya and Munjya earlier in the horror-comedy universe.

Filmibeat recently interacted with Niren and spoke to him about the success of Stree 2 and more. When we asked him if the team expected such an amazing response at the box office, the writer said, "I didn't expect the response to be so good. We knew that the response would be good and we have something special for the people. I was confident about the positive response. I had a feeling that something very good is going to happen. I actually called up Abhishek Banerjee and told him not to sign any film because after this film he will get better parts and better money. So, that feeling was there that we have something special in our hand and the response will be very positive."

Well, on social media, there's a debate going on about who should get the credit for the success of the film. Fans of Shraddha had started posted that she should get the credit, and in one of the interviews, Aparshakti spoke about the actress' PR, and then there has been a debate about the same on social media.

When asked Niren Bhatt about this whole credit debate on social media, he asked us whether who according to us is the reason behind the success. So, we told him that we had done a poll on X asking our readers about who deserves to get the success credit, and Shraddha has got the maximum votes.

So, Bhatt said, "Any film in the world is made by a team. It is an amalgamation of all art forms; there's sound designer, VFX artists, there's a producer who has a keen sense of what will work and what will not work, how the story should be, how the music should be. There are music directors, background music guys; there's of course a write and a director, and there are actors. It is a piece of art which is created by many people."

"Anyone who is associated with the film, even the actors, they understand that nobody is entiled to say that he or she is the crucial reason why the film has worked. Everyone associated with the film knows that it is a team's victory. If the one thing goes off, the film will not work. Even if the editing is wrong, entire film will fall flat. Fans don't understand the intricacies of the art," he added.

In 15 days, Stree 2 has collected Rs. 433 crore at the box office which is excellent. The movie will easily enter the Rs. 500 crore club, and now, fans are eagerly waiting to the next films in the horror-comedy universe.
