Triptii Dimri, the rising star known for delivering powerful performances, has recently been in the spotlight for her role in the film *Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video*, where she shares the screen with Rajkummar Rao. In this movie set in the '90s, she portrays Vidya, a girl from the small town of Rishikesh. The film's trailer showcased her exceptional acting skills, and now, Triptii is capturing hearts with her performance in the movie's latest song, "Mere Mehboob."
At the launch of the song, Triptii Dimri couldn't hide her enthusiasm for featuring in her first-ever dance solo. She expressed immense gratitude and excitement, citing the collaboration with renowned artists such as Sachin-Jigar, Shilpa Rao, and Sachet Tandon, with the choreography led by Ganesh Masterji. "This song is really special for me; this is my dancing number. When your first-ever song is composed by Sachin-Jigar, sung by Shilpa Rao and Sachet Tandon, and choreographed by Ganesh Masterji, then what else do you need? I'm very, very thankful, happy, and excited," she stated.
In "Mere Mehboob," Triptii showcases her dance skills in a striking blue indo-western outfit, surrounded by a group of background dancers that add to the vibrant energy of the performance. The song features a visually captivating rain sequence with Rajkummar Rao, reminiscent of classic Bollywood, highlighting their compelling on-screen chemistry.
When discussing her dance influences, Triptii mentioned she looked up to iconic '90s Bollywood performances, including those by Raveena Tandon and Katrina Kaif in "Tip Tip Barsa Pani," as she prepared for her role. Despite feeling nervous about her first dance number, she found comfort in the guidance provided by Ganesh Masterji and his team. "Yes, I had thought of it and watched them while rehearsing. I can't compare myself to them—they are just too, too good. It was great fun to shoot this song. Ganesh sir and his team were brilliant. I was very nervous because it was my first dance number, but he made it so easy for me. He was like, 'Now that you've learned it, just have fun. Don't think about anything and just play,'" she reflected.
Triptii also shared her lifelong admiration for Madhuri Dixit, whose dances she grew up emulating. "Madhuri Ma'am—I'm a huge, huge fan of hers, and I used to dance to all her songs. She has always been my favorite," Triptii revealed, highlighting the impact of the Bollywood legend on her aspirations.
