Vikrant Massey Returns To Work After Announcing Retirement, Starts Shooting For Next In Dehradun With Shanaya

Vikrant Massey has been the centre of the headline ever since he announced retirement and sent fans into a frenzy. Earlier this week, on Monday, Vikrant shared a long note of him elaborating his reason for taking a break from acting which fans considered as 'retirement'. However, within a few days, now the actor has returned to work after the announcement. According to the latest reports, the actor is now busy with shooting in Dehradun with Shanaya Kapoor for their next, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan.

After commencing the shoot, the actor could be seen attending an event which was attended by Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. In a viral video, Vikrant could be seen greeting the politician at the stage as he chatted and shook hands with him. In the same vidoe, Shanaya Kapoor could also be spotted wearing a pair of denim pants and a sweater. They have also clicked pictures together.

Vikrant Massey starrer Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan's plot is still not revealed. However, the film will revolve around romance and ghosting. Helmed by Santosh Singh, it will be bankrolled by Varun Bagla and Mansi while it will be written by Mansi Bagla and Niranjan Iyengar.

Why Did Vikrant Massey Announce His Retirement?

For the unversed, Vikrant Massey shocked fans by announcing his 'break' from acting, he wrote, "The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it's time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor."

He added, "So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between."

However, later the actor broke silence and revealed to News18 Showsha, "I'm not retiring... Just burned out. Need a long break. Miss home and health are also acting up... People misread it [the social media post]," Vikrant also added, "Acting is all I can do. And it has given me everything I have. My physical and mental health have taken a hit. I just want to take some time off, want to better my craft. I feel a sense of monotony at the moment. My post has been misinterpreted. That I am quiting or retiring from acting. I want to take some time off to focus on my family and health. I would be back when the time feels right."
