Smita Jaykar, who played Aishwarya Rai's mother's role in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, earlier opened up about Salman and Aishwarya's romance that bloomed at the set. She also revealed how Salman Khan asked the director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, not to touch Ash.

"At that time their love story had just started, it blossomed there, so it was showing and it worked very well for the film. I remembered one scene from the song Aankhon Ki Gustakhiya, where Salman had to go all the way round as Ash was standing next to me, so Sanjay goes and touches her (Ash) like this, he (Salman) goes and says Sanjay sir why did you touch her you are not supposed to do that, you know how you feel in new love, it was all that feeling. Their eyes used to tinkle, we used to watch them, we were observers," Smita added.
